【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversrequirementsandtestmethodsforexcessflowvalvesforuseinthermoplasticnaturalgaspipingsystems.However,itisexpectedthatexcessflowvalvesmanufacturedtotherequirementsofthisspecificationmayalsobeusedinothernaturalgaspipingsystems.Excessflowvalvescoveredbythisspecificationaredesignedforinsertionintocomponentsfornaturalgassystemssuchaspipe,tubing,orfittingsinsizesfrom1/2CTSto2IPS.Thetestsrequiredbythisspecificationareintendedtodeterminetheperformancecharacteristicsofanexcessflowvalveinstalledinastraightpieceofpipe.Anexcessflowvalvecouldpossiblybeinstalledinastraightpieceofpipe,inaserviceteeoutlet,aspartofamechanicalcoupling,orinotherconfigurations.Theperformancecharacteristicsoftheexcessflowvalvemaybesignificantlydifferentforeachinstalledconfiguration.UsersshouldconducttheirownteststodeterminetheinstalledperformancecharacteristicsorcontacttheEFVmanufacturerfortestdatafortheinstalledconfiguration.AdditionalguidanceonselectionandinstallationofexcessflowvalvesisincludedinAppendixX1.Thetestsrequiredbythisspecificationarenotintendedtoberoutinequalitycontroltests.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationalpurposesonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
